We started life in Connecticut. We have built a nice online
community in Brazil. We are currently working on migrating
our products into the United States and other Latin American
countries
We believe that the Internet offers a tremendous opportunity
for the dissemination of news and ideas among and between both
individuals and nations alike. Not all communications are intended
to be serious but they are intended to be heard. Our hope is
that we can provide the platform and the vehicles for helping
these thoughts to be heard.
While we are clearly operating in a global medium, our objective
is to be a local provider to the various physical communities
that comprise our online community. While we are all to some
extent products of what we see and hear in our local communities,
there is clearly a benefit to standing back and listening to
what is being said or done in a different community as well.
As publishers, we are not providing our own original content.
We provide the format and the platform to present the work
of our members.
As
editors, our role is to provide the mechanism for our members
to decide what they believe to be acceptable forms of communications.
We set the basic rules and all we ask is for a clean, non
pornographic, non defamatory and safe environment be maintained.
Our objective is to put this together in format that is attractive,
informative and stimulating.
We believe that this system of publishing user provided content
is a very effective way of bridging physical, geographical
and cultural barriers and that in a small way, the world will
be different tomorrow because of these efforts to take information
from a community in one part of the world and bring it to another.
While this all sounds philosophical, the reality is that the
process of spreading news and information has to be fun, informative
and/or rewarding to both the provider and the recipient. If
it is not, neither will continue to be participants in the
effort.
